RMR Assessment: How fast is your metabolism?
Every individual, child as well as adult, responds differently to exercise and weight loss. Therefore, every person requires a program unique to his/her physical needs. Utilizing the latest technology, iPower is able to accurately determine every new member’s present physical condition.
For years, people have made the mistake of letting their current shape and size determine how fast their metabolism is. If a person has more body fat on their body than they would desire, they automatically assume that they have a slow metabolism. When we see a person is very thin and finds it hard to put on weight, we assume that they have a fast metabolism. Actually, the accuracy of this is very misleading…
What is a metabolism? Metabolism is defined as the chemical changes in living cells by which energy is provided for vital processes and activities and new material is assimilated. This would then represent the amount of fuel or calories that your body requires to keep your body functioning throughout the day. Too many calories per meal or per day and you can store body fat. Too few calories and you can feel tired, slow your metabolism and even force your body to burn muscle to get the nutrients it needs. Can you speed up your metabolism? The answer is yes! How many calories do you need to loose body fat, gain muscle and increase your performance for a sport or activity…? We can help you find the answer to that question!
Vo2 Assessment: How hard should you work out in order to reach your desired goal?
Over the years, we have been programmed to think that the harder we work out, the better our results will be. What if I told you that by working out too hard, you can get your heart rate up so high that you are no longer burning body fat efficiently? Why is this you ask? It takes efficient oxygen intake during exercise to allow your body to burn body fat. If you are exercising at too high of a heart rate zone, you won’t burn as much body fat per minute as you could exercising in your bodies target heart rate zone! What is your target zone…? We can help you find the answer to that question also!
